Power Right Fire, Energy & Security successfully delivered a comprehensive Advanced MxPro 5 Fire Alarm System at Brava Capital's Benbulben Court development, completing the full project from mobilisation to handover in just two weeks.

Project Name: Benbulben Court - Advanced MxPro Retrofit

Client: Brava Capital

Location: Sligo

Duration: 2 Weeks

Project Overview

Power Right Fire, Energy & Security successfully delivered a comprehensive Advanced MxPro 5 Fire Alarm System at Brava Capital's Benbulben Court development, completing the full project from mobilisation to handover in just two weeks.

This project centred on the full decommissioning of an existing closed-protocol GENT fire alarm system and its replacement with a modern, open-protocol Advanced MxPro 5 platform — freeing the client from proprietary lock-in and delivering a future-proof, fully compliant life-safety solution. A panel swap with co-running panels was maintained throughout, ensuring continuous fire protection and zero disruption to building occupants at all times.

GENT to Advanced — Closed to Open Protocol Migration

The defining challenge of this project was the full replacement of a legacy closed-protocol GENT system with an open-protocol Advanced platform. This migration delivers significant long-term value to Brava Capital.

•       Closed-protocol lock-in removed — The GENT system required all components and servicing to remain within GENT's proprietary ecosystem, restricting supplier choice and inflating lifecycle costs.

•       Open-protocol freedom — The Advanced MxPro 5 platform allows compatible devices and components to be sourced from multiple approved suppliers, driving competition and reducing maintenance costs.

•       Future-proof scalability — The installed panel supports up to 8 loops, providing significant capacity for future expansion across the building or wider estate.

•       Third-party integration ready — Open protocol enables seamless interfacing with building management systems, access control, lifts, and remote monitoring platforms.

•       Competitive maintenance — Brava Capital can now tender maintenance contracts to any Advanced-certified contractor, eliminating vendor dependency.

EN 54 compliant — The full system meets EN 54 certification requirements, providing regulatory assurance and insurance recognition.

Fire Alarm & System Infrastructure

•       Advanced MX-5802 Fire Alarm Panel (0-8 Loop) with 2 Loop Cards — Central intelligence hub for the entire system, installed with full capacity for future zone expansion.

•       6 x Advanced MxPro 5 Series Loop Drivers (MXP-568) — Distributed loop management providing robust signal processing across all detection zones.

•       2 x 12V 17.0Ah SLA Batteries — Standby power ensuring full system operation during mains failure, in compliance with EN 54 standards.

•       434 x Intelligent Multi-Sensor Detectors — Combining optical and heat sensing for rapid, accurate detection with minimal false alarm risk.

•       386 x Enhanced Sounder Bases (Slave) — Providing audible alarm notification throughout all zones and areas of the building.

•       21 x Single Input & Single Relay Output Modules — Enabling integration with third-party systems, including lifts, access control, and mechanical plant.

•       21 x PVC Module Back Boxes (44mm) — Secure, compliant housing for all interface modules.

•       39 x Intelligent Manual Call Points with Isolators — Positioned at all exit routes and high-risk areas for immediate manual activation.

Installation & Project Delivery

•       Delivered by Power Right's licensed fire alarm engineers under the supervision of our Installation Manager throughout the two-week programme.

•       Full panel swap carried out with co-running panels maintained at all times, ensuring continuous fire protection during the transition from the legacy GENT system.

•       All cable installation, device mounting, module wiring, and containment completed to manufacturer specifications and Irish Standards.

•       Commissioning carried out by a dedicated Commissioning Engineer with full zone-by-zone testing, cause and effect verification, and system handover documentation.

•       Design and project management delivered in-house, ensuring full coordination between Power Right's installation teams and Brava Capital's facilities management.

•       All Health & Safety and site access protocols were fully adhered to throughout the project duration.

System Highlights

•       Full decommission and replacement of legacy closed-protocol GENT system with open-protocol Advanced MxPro 5 platform.

•       480+ detection and notification devices installed across the building.

•       Panel supports up to 8 loops — significant headroom for future expansion.

•       Intelligent multi-sensor detection reducing false alarm rates.

•       I/O module integration capability for BMS, lifts, and third-party systems.

•       Entire project — design, installation, commissioning, and handover — completed in two weeks.

The Result

Benbulben Court now benefits from a robust, intelligent, and fully compliant Advanced fire alarm system — free from the constraints of the previous GENT closed-protocol infrastructure. Brava Capital has complete freedom over future maintenance, servicing, and system expansion, with a platform built to protect occupants and assets for decades to come.

The successful delivery of this complex GENT to Advanced migration — within a live building and in just two weeks — further demonstrates Power Right Fire, Energy & Security's technical expertise, planning capability, and commitment to delivering large-scale fire alarm projects to the highest industry standards.
