Glasan Student Village

Client: Glasan Student Village - Unification of Legacy CCTV Systems

The Project outlined was designed and installed in accordance with the PSA2006_12 by a Private Security Authority Licensed company.

Power Right were tasked with surveying multiple CCTV systems of different brands, quality, and ages that were all working separately from each other. This made it very hard for the client to use effectively.  Upon completion of the survey, we designed and installed a new all-encompassing CCTV system for the Student Village Management Team along with upgrading most of their existing cameras and installing cameras in areas of risk where there was no coverage.

Upon completion of works, we provided onsite training for the team to ensure they got a good understanding of the system with all its new benefits and capabilities.

Scope of Works

1. Removed an existing CCTV Recorder (IP 16 channel system) from the main office area and as well as their existing cameras and replaced them with a new Hikvision NVR and 16 new 2 Megapixel HD Dark fighter dome cameras.  We reused all the existing infrastructure in place. This was a big cost saving.

2. There was an old standalone CCTV system in a separate office, where we rerouted cables back to the main office to have the CCTV on the same system as the previously installed NVR and we installed a new 16 channel Hikvision Turbo HD recorder in the comms room fitted with 32TB capacity and the rerouted cabling was integrated.

3. There was a standalone CCTV system in the security hut where we replaced it with a PC workstation with dual 22” monitors and Hikvision IVMS monitoring software with a USB-connected joystick and controller to operate all of the PTZ Controllable Cameras we had just upgraded. We replaced 6 existing analog Pan/Tilt/Zoom cameras with 1080P Hikvision HD versions.

4. We were able to reroute 2 existing Hikvision IP domes at the front entrance to the main NVR in the comms room. We installed a new Automatic Number Plate Capture camera at the front gateway.

Upon completion of this project, we left the management of Glasan with a more user-friendly, fit-for-purpose reliable system with an easier to use system interface, that has proven to make managing their security needs a far simpler and efficient task.
